Explore Malaysia, Truly Asia
Malaysia is an interesting country. Multi-cultural society, plenty of English.
Let us look at what to do at Malaysia:
Kuala Lumpur (KL): Capital city of Malaysia, known for the popular twin tower from Petronas. Great place to shop such as Pavilion, Suria KLCC, Lot 10, Sunway Velocity & Midvalley Magamall etc . I also like Royal Selangor visitor centre to buy some home decors or silvers. Brickfields is an Indian neighbourhood and is very closed to KL Sentral.
My favourite place is walk around River of Life (Jalan Benteng) at twilight. Visit at night for captivating lights and stunning views of the city’s oldest mosque, Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad. Don’t miss the nightly light show, when the river transforms into a striking cobalt blue, and water and lights dance to various musical tracks.
KL is extremely popular and well known for street food. Jalan Bukit Bintang is the neighbourhood and has got a Monorail stop. Pls get down and walk around Jalan Alor or Hutong Food Court etc. I like Jalan Alor - Enjoy delicious Malay, Chinese and some Indian food. FYI: Ice Lemon Tea is a national drink here !!! Plenty of Laksa, Chicken and fish to eat here. Popular Malay desserts are Ice Kacang and Cendol. Chow Kit Market is another place for street food and it has got Murals as well - bit little away from centre.
Bangsar is a neighbourhood for boutiques, cafes and fine dining options. It is some 5 km away from City centre.
Batu Caves: is some 15 KM away from KL and has a lovely hill, south indian styled temple and has got 272 steps to climb. Check out if it falls in your interest. You can combine it with Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary if you are on private tour.
Genting Island: This place is good if you got to engage kids in theme parks. Otherwise, pls avoid.
Taman Negara has got rainforests and some trekking options;
Cameron Highland and Ipoh: Plenty of tea estates, some strawberry farms, chinese temples and a decent weather will greet you here. Ideal place for couples to rest and hang around for 2/3 days. Ipoh is some two hour drive and has excellent colonial architecture, caves and limestones.
Penang: is an Island !!! Once upon a time, this was a spice trading town. George Town is extremely popular and a place to stay to explore local food at Armenian street, superb Kek Lok Si temple or pagoda, Blue Mansion and to explore some Peranakan artifacts. Murals or street art has made the walking very interesting or popular. You can do some water sports at Beach side as well.
The otherside or mainland has got hundreds of factory or manufacturing units.
Langkawi: This is a resort town. Got Beaches, water sport, Kayaking, Cable car ride, Boat ride around Kilum Geoforest etc. You will be surprised by the amount of water body here!!! Great place to visit with family and relax. Rainy season is December.
I like Malaysia, it is cost effective, get decent service, lot of see and explore. Plenty of learning for cooking class. Pls visit and do hydrate for better health !!!
