Effective Roaming of Singapore in 8 hours for Transit tourists

I would like to suggest an ideal itinerary to carry out effective roaming in Singapore within 8 hours of transit time !!! Keen to explore, Here I go:

Ideal Breakfast:

Little India : South India food like Dosa or Idly Or Puri at Komalas Restaurant or Madura Vilas Restaurant (near Little India MRT).  I like Pongal from the oldest restaurant called Komalas at Serangoon Road.

MTR restaurant is near Farrer Park MRT and it is Karnataka food and they serve excellent Masala Dosa and Uddin Vada as well.

Do get a glimpse of Srinivasa Perumal temple around MTR (dress code is needed);  Former house of Tan Teng Niah is bright and colourful as well and it is a great spot of Selfie (near Little India MRT). Allotted time is 1 hour if you go little India. Pls take a cab from Little India to Raffles Place.

Or simple Croissant & Coffee around Raffles place in any regular coffee shops like Starbucks or Tanah Merah or 6oz or Providore.  Time taken can be around 30 min.

Exploration starts now from Raffles Place Piazza.

1. Start walking from Raffles place to Fullerton Hotel and check out the ground floor, atrium and the grand staircase at the hotel.

2. Walk out to explore two old bridges such as Cavenagh Bridge, Anderson Bridge

3. Check out Miniature Pagoda at Esplanade Park, colonial building such as Victoria Theatre and Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM) within 50 min. Pls also walk across the road to waterfront and take a selfie with Marina Bay Sands or the place is also known as Merlion Park.

4. Trivia: You have observed well if you could spot metal statues of boys jumping into river !!

5. Now, you can take a walk to Buddha Relic temple (1.3km). Pls walk via Philip street, Club street to reach the Pagoda or Temple. Walk can take around 15-20 min. Pls treat this pagoda visit as more of cultural exploration.

6. Buddha temple follows dress code and you can borrow Sarang if needed. Temple has got 5 floors and I would recommend you to do ground floor first and take elevator to floor 4 and walk to Roof floor and walk downwards to explore one theme after another ! Enjoy the magnificent lightings, meditation room and artefacts floor within 1 hour.

7. After temple, pls walk across to Maxwell Food Centre and enjoy the local delicacy called Nasi Lemak or any other suitable cuisine such as Laksa, Fish food or fusion food you wish to try out within 45 min.

8. Take train to Gardens by the Bay from Maxwell MRT or take a cab.

9. Explore Flower Dome and Cloud Forest within 2 to 2.5 hours !

10. We have spent around 6 to 6.5 hours now based on your swift mode !

11. You can either explore Bugis / Arab Street now to explore Kampong Glam neighbourhood. This locality has got some lovely local boutique shops at Haji Lane, Sultan Mosque, Blu Jaz cafe for a beer, number of restaurants covering various food such as Greek, Malay, Turkish, Lebanese food etc for early dinner. There are couple art galleries as well. This activity will cover the remaining time.

12. Or you can go to 313 Somerset at Somerset MRT - You can do some shopping at Zara, Coffee at % Arabica, Charles & Keith, Muji or Uniqlo (at next door called Orchard Gateway). This will give you an idea about Singapore's busy mall explorer experience. As usual, you can explore some food options at Food Republic at 5th floor.

13. There are some cocktail shops if you can cross to Emerald Hill Road for a relaxing cocktail and early dinner outside the 313 Somerset door.

14. There goes your engaging, exploring 8 hours before you return to Changi Airport !!!

Hope you enjoyed the walk. Do hydrate yourself due to warm weather of Singapore.
